Privacy Policy
Last updated: Oct 11, 2026
This policy explains how Metrosolus ("we") handles personal information on quebec.agency, in line with Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector and, where it applies, the federal PIPEDA. In short: we collect what you give us to run a directory and introduce clients to specialists, we do not sell your data, and we do not use advertising or analytics trackers.
Person in charge of the protection of personal information: the person in charge of the protection of personal information, contact@quebec.agency.
1. Information we collect
Clients (project briefs)
Name, email, optional phone and company, and the project details you enter: type of project, areas, timing, preferences and notes.
Specialists (listings and accounts)
Name, business name, email, phone, website, bio, line of business, specialties, areas served, credentials you claim, availability, and activity on the account (leads received, credits bought and used, subscription status). Public listings show your name, business, specialties, areas, bio, website and badges. Your email, phone and credit balance are not shown publicly.
Accounts
If you create an account or sign in, we keep your email, name, optional phones and company, your notification choice, your sign-in times and, if you choose to set one, a password (stored only as a one-way hash). You can edit these in Settings, sign out of other devices, and delete your account and your briefs yourself at any time.
Affiliates
If you join the affiliate program we keep your name, email, payout method and payout details, your referral code and visitor counts, and the commissions you earn and are paid. We do not collect extra personal data about people who click an affiliate link beyond a cookie holding the referrer's code and a count of unique daily visitors.
Messages and support tickets
What you send through the contact form or a help ticket (you must be signed in to open a ticket), our replies, and the date and category of the request. If you recommend a business, we keep the details you give about it and your email so we can reach you with a question.
Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We receive limited details such as the amount, date, purchase type and a Stripe customer or subscription reference.
Technical and security data
Our server and hosting provider log standard request data such as IP address, browser type and pages requested. We keep short-lived anti-abuse counters, derived from your IP address, that are deleted automatically after about a day. We use a session cookie (see the Cookie Policy).
Public sources
Some unclaimed listings are built from publicly available business information (for example public business-license records, which give a business name, category, street address and license number) or from a visitor's recommendation. We keep any phone number from such a record private (it is not shown on the site), we do not keep the email address of the record, and we do not email anyone because of an import. If you are listed and did not create the listing, you can claim it, correct it or ask us to remove it at any time.
2. How we use information
- To run the directory, build suggested teams and match briefs with specialists.
- To email specialists a private link when a brief matches, and to email clients a confirmation of what was sent.
- To let a specialist unlock a client's contact details after paying with credits.
- To let you sign in, show your projects or listing in your account, and tell clients when a specialist unlocks their brief (you can turn those emails off in Settings).
- To process purchases and subscriptions, keep records and prevent fraud and abuse.
- To answer messages, provide support and send service notices (for example account links and receipts).
- To secure and improve the site, and to meet legal obligations.
We do not use your information for automated decisions that have legal effects on you. Matching is a ranking of listings by fit, with paid placement as one factor (see the Terms of Use).
3. Who sees your information
- Matched specialists see a client's project details. A client's name, email and phone are shown only to a specialist who unlocks the lead.
- The public sees specialist listings as described above.
- Service providers that work for us under contract: Stripe (payments), our web host and email delivery provider, and Google Fonts (see Cookies). They may use the data only to provide their service to us.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect rights, safety or the site, and in a merger, sale or reorganisation of the business.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not knowingly collect information about people under 18.
Once a specialist has unlocked a client's contact details, that specialist holds them and is responsible for how they use them. Specialists may use them only to respond to that project and must not add the client to marketing lists without consent.
4. Email
We send service emails (leads, confirmations, account links, receipts). We do not send marketing newsletters unless you opt in. Specialists receive project leads because they asked to be listed; each listing has a removal link, and you can also write to us to stop emails.
5. How long we keep information
We keep information as long as needed to run the service, keep financial and tax records, resolve disputes and meet legal duties. Client briefs and listings are deleted or anonymised when no longer needed or when you ask us to. Payment records are kept for the period tax and accounting rules require. Anti-abuse counters are deleted within about a day.
6. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information in a structured, commonly used technological format, to withdraw your consent, to stop disseminating it or to de-index it where the law allows, and you can remove a specialist listing yourself with its removal link. To make a request, write to the person in charge at contact@quebec.agency or use the contact form. We will confirm your identity (for example by emailing the address on file) and reply in writing within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (cai.gouv.qc.ca).
The suggestions we produce (suggested teams, matches) are automated, but you choose what to send and a specialist chooses what to unlock; no decision with legal effect on you is made exclusively by automated processing. You can ask us to explain how a suggestion was produced or to have a person review it.
We keep a register of confidentiality incidents. If an incident presents a risk of serious injury, we notify the Commission d'accès à l'information and the persons concerned, as the law requires.
7. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), restrict access to stored data, sign private links so they cannot be guessed, and use rate limits and spam protection. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects you we will notify you as the law requires.
8. Information communicated outside Québec
The site is intended for people doing business in Québec. Some of our providers (hosting, email delivery, payments) may process information outside Québec, including in the United States. Before information leaves Québec we assess the privacy factors involved, as Québec law requires, and we make sure that it would receive adequate protection, notably by contract.
9. Children
The site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes
We will post updates here and change the date above. For material changes we will give notice on the site or by email.
